WHY CHOOSE ROBERT MICHAEL PHOTOGRAPHY?

If you want fun, unique and fresh images, you are looking at the right place.  In order to illustrate feeling in a portrait, it needs to be amazing.  Experimentation, different angles, unique cropping, fun locations, and poses are all examples of how we will have fun working together to make your senior session enjoyable, memorable, and uniquely you.

I have been in this business for over five years and I love what I do.  My job isn’t finished after I take the photos.  I spend a lot of time retouching and taking it to the next level by eliminating blemishes, whitening teeth and eyes, brightening colors, and providing depth to the portrait.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A SESSION

First of all, I want you to realize that you will have fun.  I promise.  I can get rather silly and tell some pretty dumb jokes, and I like loud music…it will not be boring.  So please do not be nervous.  Everyone who has walked in nervous has ended up leaving having had a great time.

Depending on the session you choose, we will have time to run around town discovering fun places that match your outfit and personality.  I have several great places scoped out in the community.  It helps if you have someone with you when posing for your outdoor shots to assist in helping with reflectors and such.  Then we will go inside for some studio poses where we will change backdrops and props along with your outfits.  The most important thing is to reflect who you are.

Each photography session is shot personally by me, and customized to your personal taste.  I like to bend the rules a bit, so if you have a unique challenge to make your senior portraits absolutely amazing, I’m up for it!

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE SESSION

We will make an appointment to have you back at the studio a week or two later, along with a parent or anyone else you would like to bring along to view your slideshow.  You will watch your session on the big screen, which is set to music.  Due to the number of photos taken and the decision-making process, you will not need to place your order that day.  You will leave with a booklet that includes all your photos to help you decide which ones to order.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH YOUR ORDER

Orders take 4-6 weeks to finish after you placed.  Keep this in mind in case you are working with any deadlines.  You will choose a yearbook pose when you place your order, which is included with your session.  It will be delivered to your high school for you, so no need to worry.

WHAT TO WEAR, AND WHAT NOT TO WEAR

It is very important to keep your clothing choices simple, so do not wear busy patterns and logos.  It can be very distracting.  Variety is key, do not limit yourself.  Bring various styled outfits.  That way we can elaborate on many different looks for you.  In fact, bring your prom dress or suit.  Come with sports equipment along with jerseys and jackets – it completes the look.  If you have a hobby, bring something along that relates to your passion for it.  Bring your dirt bike, cool car, pet snake, or drum set.  Whatever it might be, we want it.

Jewelry is fine when used as accents to your outfit.

Ladies…bra straps are not cool.  Either wear a strapless bra or one that matches your ensemble.  I do charge extra to digitally remove bra straps from the photos.  Watch out for low necklines and thin fabrics.  See-through is also not acceptable.

Make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing.  Usually the stuff you have in your closet is great.  But this can also be your chance to go shopping for new clothes.

HAIR

Do not go crazy with any extreme hair changes right before your photo session.  You are in charge of your hair during the shoot – mainly because I do not know what it is supposed to look like (I would probably just mess it up anyway).  Ladies…have fun with different styles during the shoot – some shots with it down, some with it up, messy buns, pigtails, scarves, hats…we like variety.

In closing, it’s all about you.  This is your time, and we want to reflect that.
