WHY CHOOSE ROBERT MICHAEL PHOTOGRAPHY?

If you want fun, unique and fresh images, you are looking at the right place.  In order to illustrate feeling in a portrait, it needs to be amazing.  Experimentation, different angles, unique cropping, great locations, and capturing the best moments are all examples of how we will have fun working together to make your wedding day even more enjoyable, memorable, and uniquely you.

This is a highly personal occasion and you will be working very closely with the photographer. He will be following you around for the entire day, so it’s important to meet in advance to ensure that you are compatible. The photographer you choose to capture the moments of your wedding will play a very significant role in what is likely to be the single most important day of your life. Consider this: Long after the band stops playing, the guests have gone home, and the flowers have wilted, all that will remain are the memories and photographs.

I have been in this business for over five years and I love what I do.  My job isn’t finished after I take the portraits.  I spend a lot of time creating unique works of art to truly capture the feeling of your day.  Retouching and taking it to the next level by eliminating blemishes, whitening teeth and eyes, brightening colors, and providing depth to the portrait is standard in our quality work at Robert Michael Photography.

At Robert Michael Photography, we want to get you exactly what you need. The packages that we have laid out are there to help you along in the sometimes difficult decision making process. The packages are more like guidelines. For example, if you need additional portraits to give to bridesmaids and groomsmen we can certainly arrange for that. There’s no need to feel pressured to commit to a package right away, this is done after seeing proofs from your wedding. We want to be as flexible as possible in helping you to select the right number of proofs, gift portraits, wall and desk portraits, different digital effects and of course our specialty ‘Your Story’ album. In addition to our packages we also offer specialty products; wall collections, 4up portraits, wallet albums, custom ‘Thank You’ cards, seating cards, custom guest books and multi-image compositions. Your wedding portraits are truly an investment that will appreciate in sentimental value over time.

“Robert Michael Photography truly helped make our wedding day perfect. Of course the pictures are absolutely gorgeous, but it’s the time attention to detail and great personality that really made the difference. Rob is courteous, professional and a lot of fun to work with. We were confident with his skills and creativity. He fit right into the family for the big day and we’re truly honored to have such beautiful images that captured the day.”

Events Timeline

Initial Contact – usually 12-18 months before the wedding

A call or email, getting in touch with different photographers to decide who is right for you.

First Meeting – within a week of the Initial Contact

During the first meeting you will see the photographer’s portfolio and really begin to understand what they can do for you, and if your personalities will blend well. Packages and prices will be discussed.

Choosing your photographer – within 2 weeks of the first meeting

Upon deciding on your photographer, you will both sign a contract to ensure your selected date. You will also put down a $250 deposit to hold that date.

Engagement Portraits – between 6 – 2 months prior to the wedding

An engagement session with a 5×7 for the newspaper comes with any of the packages at Robert Michael Photography. This is the best time for you and the photographer to get to know you one another.

Pre-Ceremony Consultation – 1-2 weeks prior to the wedding

This can be done over the phone, or in person at the studio. All final wedding day timelines will be discussed, as well as traveling logistics. This is also the perfect time to go through a ‘shot list,’ what must be photographed, as well as any other special requests.

The Wedding Day

The photographer will arrive about the same time as the wedding party, to get the preparation photos. Usually the Bride and Bridesmaids are photographed individually, then the Groom and Groomsmen prior to the ceremony. The whole Bridal Party as well as family will be photographed after the ceremony. We can go on location after the ceremony allowing 45 to 60 minutes for travel and photographing time, before heading to the reception and finally the dance. Rob will stay until he’s comfortable that he captured the atmosphere of the day, and will always ask the Bride and Groom if they need anything else before packing up.

Website Proofs – 1 week after the wedding

Proofs will be available at www.robertmichaelphotography.com/brideandgroom. Take a look though everything and start to write down what images are your favorites and selecting the ones you’d like to have as proofs.

Ordering Consultation – 2 to 4 weeks after the wedding

Come into the studio to see your portraits on the big screen and select what you’d like for sizes from the package, or custom package. Your selection of proofs will be needed at this point as well. After ordering we’ll need half of the remaining total paid.

Portrait Pickup – 2-3 weeks after Ordering Consultation

We’ll call when we have your portraits, proof books and ‘Your Day’ album ready for you. The remainder of the balance will be due at this time.

Finally, once your wedding day has past and your relationship with your photographer appears to be over, be sure to tell your friends and family if you were happy with his or her services. Photographers work off referrals and they are always greatly appreciated. Also remember that most wedding photographers do other types of photography as well, so keep us in mind for your family portraits in the future. It’s always nice to get repeat business, and to see familiar faces and watch families grow.

Thank you and I wish you the best on your big day.
